Committee Meeting Participants

Each WSTS Member Company has one official representative in the Committee, who is expected to participate in the Committee Meeting (Business Meeting) and to assume his/her voting rights in the Business Meeting on Tuesday morning. Any other employee of a WSTS Member Company is invited to participate in all parts of the Committee Meeting (Business Meeting and Forecast Meeting). Participation in the Forecast Meeting is subject to the submission of a premeeting forecast.
Furthermore the representatives of the sponsoring Semiconductor Industry Associations are invited to participate as observers. During your registration you will be required to declare in which role you will attend the meeting.
Certain detailed information such as the agenda, the list of participants etc. is only accessible to holders of WSTS user accounts and/or to registered participants. If you have registered but do not have a WSTS user account, you may login to this meeting web site (right upper corner) with your registration ID as user name and your last name as password.

Any non-member semiconductor company who has serious interest to join WSTS may send a participant to the Committee Meeting as observer. Such request is to be made to the WSTS Administrator.

Travel and Transfer

Important: You will need a Visa to visit Taiwan. Please refer to your local authorities.

Most participants from abroad will travel by air and arrive at Taiwan Tao Yuan International Airport (CKS Int' l Airport). Transfer to the hotel will take approx. 45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic and type of ground transportation.
Some participants may arrive at Taipei Song Shan Airport. Transfer from this airport to the hotel by Taxi will take about 15 minutes.

The distance from Taiwan Tao Yuan International Airport (CKS Int' l Airport) to the hotel is about 45 km. For ground transportation there are several options:

1. By "Toward You Air Bus" to Hotel: NT$ 90. Travel time 70 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. Departure: Terminal 1 Bus platform on the southwest side of passenger arrival reception area and Terminal 2 Bus platform on the northeast side of passenger arrival reception area. Ticket counters are located in the arrival passenger reception areas at both terminals.
2. By Taxi to Grand Formosa Regent Hotel approx. 45 minutes. Taxi ranks are outside the arrival halls of both terminals. To ensure the safety of passengers, only the taxis approved by the Aviation Police Bureau are permitted to operate at the airport. Airport taxis charge according to the meter in addition a 50% surcharge. Highway tolls are not included. A typical taxi fare to Taipei is approx. NT$ 1,100.
3. By Hotel pick up service: airport transfers by private limousine are available at the following rates:

• Mercedes 350:NT$ 2,100 net per car per way (3 persons max.)
• 9-seater-mini coach: NT$ 2,600 net per car per way (7 persons max.)
• 20-seater-mini coach:NT$ 4,000 net per car per way (18 persons max.)

Active Participation

Contact the Vice Chairman of your region if you are willing to make a presentation or lead a session at the meeting.

Cost of Participation

Hotel

Rooms are available at the following rate:

* EXTENDED: At this date WSTS has to return unused rooms to the hotel. The hotel may therefter accommodate requests on availability basis and apply the then applicable standard rate.

Rate above is inclusive of a 5% VAT and 10% service charge. One daily buffet breakfast at Brasserie (1st Floor) is included. In case of double occupancy NT$ 605 will be charged for a second breakfast. In-room high speed interneet access included free of charge.

Participation Fee

The regular fee is $120 to $150 per day or $500 for the entire meeting. Participants who registered before 15 September 2009 receive the discounted participation fee of $80 to $100 per day or $330 for the entire meeting. Participants who booked at the discounted participation fee (before 15 September), but who change any details of their registration after 15 September will have to pay the regular participation fee. Minor changes (change of room type, addition of supplementary information) will however not cause a reassessment of the participation fee. For registrations after the ordinary deadline of 14 October 2009 a late registration fee will apply, which is $140 to $170 per day or $580 for the entire meeting.

In case of cancellation of the registration in whole or in part WSTS will retain $100 per day or $330 for the entire meeting.

Participation fees include a daily buffet lunch, a morning and afternoon break with coffee, tea and other refreshments as well as a dinner on Tuesday and Thursday. All dinners are also available to accompanying spouses free of charge.

The period for registration begins on 11 August and ends on 25 October

Practical Hints

Electricity in Taiwan is 110V 60Hz AC. Time Zone: Taiwan is 8h ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +0800).
Gratuity: In Taiwan tips are not necessary, even at hotels, restaurants and taxies. 10% service charge is normally included in restaurant bill.
